As a Business IT & Management intern at Prodos, I look at how the team works, where time is being spent and where things could be done more efficiently. As part of my studies at Utrecht University of Applied Sciences, my internship focuses on AI and automation, with a particular emphasis on turning insight into action: not just identifying what could be improved, but actually doing something about it.
What I find most interesting about this field is that technology itself is rarely the real challenge. The key question is what you are comfortable entrusting to a system and what you want to keep in human hands. That is a conversation I enjoy having with the people who do the work every day. I am driven by finding ways to eliminate repetitive manual tasks without people losing control. That means setting clear boundaries, keeping human approval in the loop and making sure there is visibility over what has happened, so that a solution is not only effective but also trusted.
While at work I enjoy figuring out how processes fit together, outside work I like to slow things down. You will often find me reading a book, out on a long walk or in the kitchen. I bring that same sense of calm to the workplace, although after a day of problem-solving I also really enjoy an evening with friends. I am not someone who immediately jumps at the first solution; I prefer to weigh up the options and make a choice once I understand why it is the right one.
